A few days ago, the Zhejiang Jiaxing Port Area FTIR monitoring station was officially built and has been debugged. It is understood that the equipment can carry out the qualitative and quantitative analysis of most volatile organic pollutants (VOCs) in the air, filling the gap of FTIR monitoring in Zhejiang.

FTIR equipment is different from the principle of dispersive infrared light separation. It is based on the principle of Fourier transform infrared light after interference, with infrared light source, optical grating, interferometer (beam splitter, moving mirror, fixed mirror), sample cell, detector, and various kinds of red external mirror, laser, control circuit board and power supply. Its basic monitoring principle is understood as: the IR light emitted by the source is reflected by retros, and then returns back to the monitor. And the spectra are analyzed to determine the chemicals in the path between the light source and the retro.

"At present, this equipment can monitor more than 300 kinds of VOCs, and the monitoring period takes only a few minutes. It has a powerful rapid analysis capability." Said one of the officers of Zhejiang Jiaxing Port District EPB, “After this monitoring site was put into use, Zhejiang Jiaxing Port District EPB can combine the existing air automatic monitoring station to improve the air quality of the Chemical New Material Park of Port District and create the no odor park.
